The Palais du Luxembourg is a city palace located in Paris in the Jardin du Luxembourg. At the beginning of the seventeenth century it was completely redesigned at the behest of Maria de Medici. Italian artists played an important role in the restoration, a clear example of cultural transfer as a product of dynastic linkages.
