Mary Moser, Flowers, Still Life (Jardiniere of Flowers), ca. 1780

The English painter Mary Moser (1744–1819) was, with the Swiss-born Angelika Kauffmann, one of the two female founder members of the British Royal Academy of Art. Moser, who won her first prize at the age of 14, made her name above all with floral still lifes, and was commissioned by Queen Charlotte of England (1744–1818) to design the floral decoration of one of the rooms in Frogmore House, Windsor.
