İsmet İnönü (1884-1973)

İsmet İnönü (before 1934 Mustafa İsmet Pasha, 1884–1973), Atatürk's right-hand man and politician of the Kemalist Republican People's Party (CHP), was prime minister (1923–1937 and 1961–1965) and, after Atatürk's death, president of the Republic of Turkey from 1938 to 1950. The picture shows him in the late 1930s at a CHP party congress.
