Fabian Baur, Die Versuche

KunstRaum Wunderkammer was a non-commercial exibition space in the centre of Stuttgart, set up by Gabriele Beßler in 2003, in which artists and scholars reflected on the chamber of wonders as an instrument of perception. In the series Studiolo 1-6, seven students of the Stuttgart School of art reinterpreted the studiolo, the probable nucleus of the chamber of wonders, in installations and perfomances (see http://www.wunderkammer.de/2006.htm).

Fabian Baur created a room (within a room) of books (embodying learning) and thus went to the roots of the chamber of wonders. Born 1976, he lives as a freelance artist and educator in Weissach near Stuttgart.
