Türkische Hilfstruppen tragen die kranken britischen Soldaten nach Balaklava 1854 IMG

This image depicts the suffering of the soldiers during the siege of Sevastopol. We see the evacuation of British soldiers to the base camp at Balaclava. Subsequently – for the first time in the history of warfare – a strategic railway was built between Balaclava and Sevastopol to supply the soldiers at Sevastopol.
