Ehemalige Leprakolonie auf der Insel Spinalonga

People suffering from leprosy have been isolated from the rest of society since antiquity until early modern times in order to prevent the spread of the disease. Leprosy colonies such as on the Greek island of Spinalonga provided a welcome opportunity to segregate the sick from the healthy through spatial isolation.
