This German-language postcard depicts Alfred Dreyfus (1859–1935) in prison on Devil's island. A gendarme is bringing him the news that his plea for a retrial has been granted and the case will be reopened. The diamond-shaped insert in the upper right-hand corner depicts the prison's watchtower.
