Dreyfus before the court martial in Rennes, 1899

This illustrated postcard, captioned in German and French, shows Captain Alfred Dreyfus (1859–1935) before the court martial in Rennes, where his retrial was held. Although the trial ended with Dreyfus's renewed conviction, he was pardoned by the French president, Emile Loubet (1838–1929).
