Germany's first TV chef Clemens Wilmenrod [real name: Carl Clemens Hahn], originally an actor, helped shape the eating habits of post-war Germans between 1953 and 1964 through his almost 200 very successful cookery programmes and contributed to the popularisation of Italian cuisine in Western Germany.
