Kunst- und Naturalienkammer, Halle: Blick in den Innenraum IMG

View of the interior of the chamber of art and naturalia at the Franckesche Stiftungen in Halle. The chamber, reinsteted in 1995, is nearly the only original specimen of its kind, albeit a late one, designed in 1735 by Gotfried August Gründler. In the foreground, models of the kind typical for such collections and ethnographic artefacts on the walls. Background left: cabinet No. XIV.O, proclaiming itself to contain clothing "from all parts of the world"; right: cabinet No. XIII.N, which Gründler, in a 1741 inventory, describes as containing "objects fit to accompany food and drink [...]. Furthermore, some items pertaining to war, as well as divers artificial items."
