A Bar at the Folies Bergères IMG

A Bar at the Folies-Bergère (Un bar aux Folies Bergère), painted and exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1882, was the last major work by Édouard Manet. It depicts a scene in a Paris nightclub. Its subject matter has proved controversial – it has been suggested that the subject is a prostitute – and the use of reflection and perspective have puzzled critics.
