The Holy Trinity, one of the most famous icons painted by Andrei Rublev (1360–1430), depicts a scene from the Old Testament: God reveals himself to Saint Abraham in the shape of three angels visiting him. Andrei Rublev (1360–1430), a famous painter of icons and murals, became a monk at the Saviour-St Andronik’s Monastery in Moscow in the last years of his life. After his death, he was canonised by the Russian Orthodox Church.
