Hercules bearing the globe of Atlas IMG

This etching from the late 17th century depicts Hercules bearing the globe of Atlas. Flanked by two reclining astronomers, Hercules is positioned kneeling in the middle of the representation, and carrying the weight of the globe on his back. The astronomer to the left is holding an armillary sphere; the one to the right, a compass and tablet.
