Battle of Jutland Victory Scroll 1916

This cloth banner commemorating the "Victory of Jutland" depicts the Union Jack flag, and beneath it King Georg V of England (1865–1936) (centre), Admiral David Beatty (1871–1936) (left) and John Jellicoe (1859–1935) (right). Surrounding the portraits in the middle of the banner are depictions of various battles from across the centuries. At the bottom in the middle is the date of the Battle of Jutland: May 31st 1916. It is unclear whether the banner was intended as a memento for sailors involved in the battle, or whether it was available to the general public to buy.
