Organigramme of a Presbyterian-Synodal Reformed Church

The Reformed congregations in Europe were all constructed in a similar way, with the four officeholders of pastor, teacher, elder/presbyter, and deacon. The structure of the church above the congregation level was in theory supposed to be a bottom-up structure in the "republican" sense. In practice, however, there were vast differences between the Reformed churches in this regard, and it is thus strictly speaking not possible to speak of a Reformed church model.
